The London KPMS site participated in the Relay for Life on June 20, 2008. The American Cancer Society had its annual Relay for Life event at the Optimist Club this year and the KPMS team had great time raising money for this important charity. The KPMS booth offered face painting, snacks, sodas and coffee. The coffee was a big hit—especially since it had rained early in the evening and everyone was chilly!
Much of the money raised by the London/Laurel County Chapter of the American Cancer Society goes to the Hope Lodge in Lexington, KY. Eighteen Laurel County cancer patients were able to use this facility while receiving cancer treatment during 2007. This facility is a home-away-from-home for cancer patients and is free of charge. The Hope Lodge had 32 rooms with a private bathroom, a kitchen, dining room, a library and even wireless internet throughout the facility.
